Your journey at Sofive

Rigorous check-in

Teams must check in 30 minutes prior to their first game and show an official roster and passes for all players – including guests players. We accept birth certificates.

Great fields & facility

Play on our sublime turf fields, specifically designed for 5-a-side soccer. Enjoy our clean changing rooms, spacious lounge, and free on-site parking

Qualified referees

Our refs are fully qualified, know the game in-and-out, and go through regular training. We count on each team to endorse fair play and respect each decision.

In & Out in 3-4 hours

The average tournament will run for 3-4 hours which allows teams to have sufficient rest times while keeping the kids active and respecting coaches/parents’ time.

Still have a question about our youth tournaments? Read our FAQ first:

Waiver: does everyone needs to sign a waiver?

Yes, every parent or legal guardian must sign our waiver online for their kid(s). Players will not be allowed on the field without it. Start by creating an account as a parent (enter your personal information, not that of your kid), and add your kid(s) at the end of the process. Note: Coaches or team manager cannot sign the waiver for their team. Please forward the waiver link to the parents.

Fields: what size are the fields?

Our 5v5 fields are FIFA Futsal regulated dimensions. Typically, we feature fields 85 – 90 ft in length, 50 – 55 ft in width, and 15 – 20 ft in ceiling height. Goals are 6 ft by 10 ft.

The fields are enclosed with rebound walls and enclosed in netting. 5-a-side soccer is played “off-the-wall”.

Check-in procedures: what documents should I bring?

Teams must check in 30 minutes prior to their first game and show an official roster and passes for all players – including guests players. Birth certificates can be provided instead of player passes if the team is not sanctioned.

Footwear & Equipment: what do we need to bring?

Footwear: we strongly encourage to use turf shoes as this is the most comfortable and safe footwear to play on turf. However, we do allow non-metal cleats to be used on our fields.

Jersey: teams must bring 2 sets of jerseys.

Ball: games will be played with a Sofive 5-a-side ball, which is slightly smaller and heavier than a regular size 5 ball, but not quite a Futsal ball.

Shinpads: all players must wear shinpads.

Featured rule: Youth league and youth tournament variations

  • Field restrictions – All players are allowed to enter and play the ball inside the goal area.
    • There are no restrictions to where the keeper can play the ball.
    • The keeper is only allowed to handle the ball in the goal area
  •  Pass back – passing back to the keeper is permitted, however they cannot pick up the ball
  • Free kicks and penalty kicks
    • If the keeper picks up a pass back, a direct free kick will be awarded 2 yards outside the goal area
    • A foul on the attacking player in the goal area will be awarded a penalty
      • If a penalty is awarded then it will not count towards the foul count rule
    • A handball in the goal area by a defending player will be awarded a penalty

Featured rule: can we sub on the fly?

Substitutions are unlimited during the game and can only be made with the referee consent

  1. Outgoing substitutes must leave the field of play before the replacement enters the playing area
  2. The oncoming players are active immediately and can receive the ball
  3. Substitutes must stand outside the pitch perimeter and spectators must not enter the field of play under any circumstances. A change of goalkeeper must be authorized by the referee

Schedules: when are the schedule disclosed?

The tournament schedules will be emailed to the coach/manager 3-to-5 days before the tournament. The timeframe of the tournament (which generally run for 3-4 hours) will be emailed one week before the event. As a general guideline, youngest age categories tend to run earlier in the day.
